Jennie Tice

Jennie Tice currently serves as the Family Sunshine Center (FSC)’s Training & Outreach Specialist. In this role, she uses her diverse experience working with Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, & Human Trafficking to train professionals in the community about these victimizations while using person-centered, trauma-informed approaches.

She previously served as FSC’s Victim Services representative in a statewide federally funded Human Trafficking Task Force focused on bringing Law Enforcement & Victim Service Providers together to support Survivors & increase trust between agencies. Jennie served as the Human Trafficking Case Manager when FSC’s emergency shelter opened in 2020 and developed the Economic Empowerment program in the domestic violence shelter prior to that.

Jennie has worked frequently with the Criminal Justice System & in multidisciplinary settings including task forces in Alabama & Georgia. She has provided training, technical support, & resource development to enhance collaborative partnerships throughout her career.

She first began her advocacy career in 2003 after obtaining a B.A. in Psychology. She worked for domestic violence agencies and, ultimately, specialized in legal advocacy. She later accepted a position as a Victim Witness Advocate in the Atlanta District Attorney's Office. There she served as a system-based advocate working with felony crime victims and witnesses in a variety of cases. This enabled her to advocate for thousands of Survivors from a diverse set of backgrounds, circumstances, victimizations, and traumas. It opened her up to different perspectives of the professionals working within the criminal justice system and those she served.

This invitation and registration is for VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE.

If you wish to attend in person, please do not register from this email.  Instead, check your email for a similar invitation for In-Person attendance.  We are trying to get an accurate count for the food that will be provided during lunch.  By registering from this invitation, you will not be included in the meal count.

Your VIRTUAL format experience will be similar to that of the Annual Conference where members will be able to ask questions in real time and see the speaker and Power Point slides.

I look forward to seeing you on-line.

Best Regards,

David Whitson

2024-2025 APIA President
